Print Warehouse Locations

The LoMag warehouse program allows printing of warehouse locations in the form of a bar code that can be read by a scanner. To do this, make sure that the option of handling warehouse locations is enabled in the software settings. It is possible to generate a code in CODE39, CODE128 technology and a QR code.

Click the items tab and select the Warehouse locations option from the drop-down list, this will open a new window in which we will have a current list of items assigned to specific locations. A detailed instruction on how to use warehouse locations can be found at this address.

1. Configuring Barcode Printouts

When you press labels option in the new window it should be expanded so that the icon on the right is visible in it, you will see the window printing labels for selected items (those that have been marked on the list by the left mouse button and are highlighted in blue on the background i.e. #3/01/4).

When you run the label printout for the first time, the list of templates will be empty since no label has ever been configured before. In order to add a new template, click on the template editor icon, which will display a new window responsible for editing the (empty) template.

LoMag users can define the size of paper to be used for printing by expanding the list and selecting the appropriate format.

on the left side, look for the parameter called location code, click on it with the left mouse button and hold it and place it in the desired place on the document. We can increase or decrease the code field by using the slider corners of the red frame.

In order to change the text value of the location code field to a bar code, use the encoding option, located on the left side and responsible for a given attribute (you can also increase or decrease the size of the code by changing the size attribute). In the example below, CODE128 coding was chosen which automatically changed the appearance of the field to a bar code.

The label template can be configured in a way so that it can be used in future by pressing the templates button, and then choosing Save as option from the drop-down menu. This operation will display a new window in which you must enter the name of the new template, which should be confirmed by clicking save option.

We create the second template in the same way but we set the QR code encoding instead of CODE128, and additionally add an un-coded field with the location code name underneath. The template is saved under the name "QR Code Template".

Now the LoMag user can choose desired name of template from the drop-down list.

In order to generate more than one copy of a document, increase its number accordingly, and then press the save as PDF button, which will generate a document in .pdf format with the appropriate number of bar codes to be printed.

By printing our second configured template, we can notice the difference that other QR coding is introduced and in addition the location code name is given under the code.
