Grouping Displayed Table Results in LoMag

LoMag allows you to group results in tables, making data easier to interpret — for example, by showing totals, averages, and other aggregated values.

1. Enabling the Grouping Function

To group displayed data in a table, start by enabling the grouping function. Click the “Column layout” button, then select the “Group results” option.

2. Column Grouping

LoMag lets you define how each column should be grouped. To activate this feature, remove detailed columns (such as Name, Barcode, Image, or Unit) from the “Visible columns” list using the left and right arrows.

In this example, the main grouping column will be Group. For the remaining columns, you can assign aggregation functions.

Available aggregation functions:

For the “Stock” column, you can total the quantity of goods per group by using the SUM function. To count the number of items, use COUNT.

To total the value of goods in each group, apply the SUM function to the “Value” column.

For purchase and selling prices, use the AVG function to show the average price.

MIN and MAX functions can be applied to show the lowest and highest stock levels, e.g., minimum and maximum stock thresholds.

After confirming with the OK button, a new table with grouped items will be displayed.

3. Grouping in Reports

LoMag also supports grouping in report tables — for instance, in the “Stock in active warehouse” report.

To do this, follow the same steps as above: activate the grouping function and define your grouping preferences accordingly.
